Would like to convert my not so horror fan bf into a horror fan
What are the classics you would advise I watch with him?

There are many and it all depends on what sub-genre of horror you think he'd prefer. Here are some of my favourites:

Friday 13th
[REC]
Candyman
The living dead series
The Exorcist
Zombie Flesh Eaters 1 and 2

There are many more I could name but those are just a few for starters
