Why do you watch horror movies?

I am a film student, and I am the only one out of a class of 40 that is into horror movies at all. I get so much @#$% for it, that I am loosing my confidence and would like a reminder about why horror movies are so GREAT!

I watch horror movies because I like being scared, however, it's quite difficult to find some good ones : suspensful and keeping you at the edge of your chair I like pychological ones, because they usually have such a good plot. Hope that helped you a little

people in general are attracted to evil...it is always been that way all through history...evil is always provacative and alluring is it not?...why is it always fun to be bad...think about it... good is not hot or sexy...we all have a dark side ...do you keep yours in control..that dear readers is the million dollar question

i think every thing that have a hidden side is attracted by people...and we like to let our hair up. why? cause, this deep feeling and sorry for this like fucking. It give U the satisfactory for your desires.

Watching horror movies is so risk but its completely make us to watch horror and ugly faces. By that we dream after watching movie just imagination.

Why are you getting crap for it? I don't see how a horror movie is any different from a movie about another subject. Especially in courses that teach film students this should be clear.

I think maybe its a snob appeal thing, and because there are a lot of low budget horror movies that are not very good, a lot of people turn their noses up in favor of cinema paradiso...

Hey I'm exactly the same. Horror is my favourite genre but everyone else likes comedy or action. I welcome everyone's opinions but to me there's nothing better than a horror film...
