One good horror movie is the movie beastly. It does say bad words at the beginning, but you can fast forward the first 15 minutes or so. I don't know what gender your child is, but I think this is a chick flick. I suggest watching it alone to see if you approve. They do have a very good moral to the story though. If you don't want your kids to watch this, I think that you would enjoy this. One other horror movie that I know is called the chaperone. It does not say Amy bad words and is actually a very good movie! I think any gender would enjoy this. I watched both of these with my mom and loved them! I am 11 years old.

If you are talking about extreme as in scary than let him see some R rated ones just not the Slasher movies and Quarantine and the exorcist because pg13 horrors are often scarier for instance the ring 1 and 2 were scarier than most R rated horror but if your worried about sex and nudity the these are the ones I would recommend (top 10)
1. The ring 1 and 2-Very scary but an amazing plot
2. The sixth sense-Depends on what scares (The worst scene is very very disturbing if you don't know what I'm talking about its when the ghost kid has half of his head gone...)
3. stephen king movies These are all R but most shouldn't be The best one is "The Shining" but there is a rather long scene with nudity in it but "IT" "Children of the corn" "pet seminary" and many other are actually fine! (Don't believe me watch a couple. I wouldn't say the shining until he's older because of how scary it is lol)
4. Insidious-VERY VERY Scary If horror movies stay with your son Don't let him see this. But it was very good
5. The others- Similar to the sixth sense
6. The Grudge-many say it is the scariest movie ever however It is just grisly and chocked full of jumpscares but it is still pg-13 even though it shouldn't be
7. The uninvited- Remake of an asian horror film very good (however there were some very sexual things said for a pg-13 the worst I can think of is "I love you... and I have a condom" in my opinion should have been rated R for all the Teen drinking alone but it is still pg-13)
8. The woman in black- I usually HATE HATE HATE newer horror movies but this was very good and a very saddening surprising ending
9. Paranormal activity 1,2,& 3,- I feel bad about adding the stephen king movies to this list so now I feel really bad about this but these should not have been rated R not even close a lot of swearing (If you want to keep swearing out of his life lock him in a room and never let him out) but not very. This is the perfect movie for him to start horror with
10. The exorcism of emily rose-Kind of scary and an ok movie

Yeah, I was wondering the same thing.

A recent one to add is "The Wicked." It's listed as Not Rated, but could easily be PG13.
