As a bit of a follow up to my giant snake fetish... I thought I'd post another question

I just watched Deathwatch - a nice little supernatural thriller set in the trenches of WW1. I saw 'The Bunker' a while back and was trying to think of some other movies that featured soldiers and a supernatural or horror theme (beyond the 'regular' horror of war)? Dog Soldiers comes to mind as well I suppose. And even Ravenous - although the horror in it is set *after* the war. I vaguely remember a zombie movie where the undead soliders from the American Civil War were coming back to life (but I'll be buggered if I can remember the title).

Any others? Good, bad, indifferent I don't care

Hmm... Supernaturals doesn't ring any bells either.

I can't believe I didn't remember 'The Keep'! A really good book screwed up by a crappy film translation.

Hi there.

I think that movie with the Civil War soldiers coming back to life was called The Supernatuals, quite an enjoyable low-key flick, directed by Armand Mastroiani and starring Nichele Nichols and Maxwell Caulfield.

Another civil war era horror movie is Shadow of Chakira from 1976 (and which has other titles) starring the great Joe Don Baker and Sondra Locke, which the BBC showed a couple of times in the 80s.

A further movie set in the civil war is The Killing Box with Corbin Bernson from the early 90s.

Going off at a tangent there is an alien encounter movie from Empire Pictures called Zone Troopers which takes place in the Italian campaign of WW2.

Cheers.

Iain

Low key? I would say dull! Great premise though and I had hoped the film would have been a winner.
