Hey!!

So, I just got the Fear Dot Com DVD from warner bros. and it is super cool … I mean I had to have this because I spend so much time on the Web, and this movie is all about a KILLER WEBSITE!!

Plus there are never before seens of the MUSHRooM people, and they are super scary! The commentary is cool too, where they talk about the special effects. See more on special features www.feardotcom.com

I am totally digging this one.

4 out of 5 stars.

if there is anything good to come out of this thread about such a pants movie as fear.com, it has to be this:

anyone know if Toho's _Matango, The Fungus Of Terror_ (AKA _Attack Of The Mushroom People_ ) is out on DVD yet? I wouldn't mind making that my first Inoshiro Honda DVD

Hmmm. Somebody could tell him that the creepy little girl with the bouncing ball was scarier when Bava did it. Or Fellini. Or Scorsese.

Warner Bros. really needs to fire the head of their marketing dept.

Tell me about it! Prove us wrong, Hamachi. If you're really a contributor to this NG and NOT a Warner Bros. promotional message attempting to disguise itself as a legitimate post, please respond to THIS VERY POST.

As opposed to the Fear Dot Com DVD from say, Miramax? Are there other versions we should be aware of?

Well hey, there's an idea. I spend a lot of time in my car, so I guess I better go pick up a copy of Christine, from Columbia/Tristar.

Is the commentary only cool where they talk about the special effects, or is it cool anywhere else?

Hmm, dot com followed by a .com just seems wrong, in some way.

Hmm, I knew some bands have 'street team' members whose sole purpose was to scour the net and post ultra-positive reviews of the bands on any board or group that has even the vaguest connection to the band being promoted. I did not, however, know movie studios had adopted the same idea.

It's had no official DVD release of any kind that I know of. I do know that a company a year or so ago, released a licensed widescreen version on VCD, but that's as close to a release as one's going to get so far. Too bad since the original widescreen, subtitled version is one excellent film. Mark Cultcuts Magazine
