all you bastards seemingly not working over xmas. i'm in work until around midday xmas eve,then back the day after boxing day -pah!

Well, just to make you feel better, I'm at work all day Christmas Eve, Chrsitmas Day, Boxing Day, and the day after Boxing Day. Plus I'm there on New Year's Day. See, it could be worse!

what line of works that then? besides i bet you get paid extra for that (not that i'd want to do it).

not if you work for mcdonalds!...you can turn up for work or go live in a shoe box and eat a handfull of gravel for sunday dinner...

I'm a process support chemist at DuPont. Since the (nylon) process is continuous, people have to be there 365 days a year, and I've drawn the shortest of short straws this year. Initially, I wasn't going to get paid any extra but after making a fuss I'm now (hopefully) getting some sort of compensatory pay. Like you said, given the choice I'd much rather be off than have the money...

we buy from dupont...printing supplies that is...not suspenders and stockings like you do....ahh a dream job...like delivering prostetic breast to hospitals....personally id spend more time rolling around in the back of the van with the goods crammed in my mouth, rather than delivering them to much needed masectomy patients!!!! hur hur hur!!!

We only make the polymer chip - the tight manufacturers make the tights from that! Nylon's used for a lot of other things besides tights you know - fire retardant clothing, mountaineering equipment, all sorts of clothes, etc, etc. Very exciting stuff (not).
