video flick which I saw as 'Insect', but

The title I'm about to give you won't sound like a match, but it's the real thing...

It's BLUE MONKEY, from director William Fruet.

(Title explained: a child's imagination. Kids walking down a hospital corridor wonder what they're going to find, and one of them says 'I bet we see a big blue monkey.'

Yes, that's the one, thanks

('Blue Monkey' - I should have thought about that, after all, it's an obvious title to choose when directing a low budget horror about a giant mutated insect... sorry, couldn't resist

I'm reading some reviews now and it actually sounds better than I remember it... some say it was intended as a homage+spoof, a bit like those 'old flicks' in 'Popcorn'...

That was Blue Monkey! Interestingly enough, there is no blue monkey in it, just that pesky giant bug. Why? Well you see, the giant bug was originally supposed to me a mammoth ape creature loose in the hospital, but they scrapped that idea for a better one, a giant bug! Fortunately the title Blue Monkey (a.k.a. Green Monkey) stuck with it. Glad to have helped! - Jordan
